about the authors

Tom R. Hawkins, PhD, claims no mental health credentials but has a twenty year history of working with hundreds of complex DID cases, beginning on an inpatient DID unit. His prior twenty-five years as a pastor along with his doctorate in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary provide a foundation for addressing the often complex spiritual dynamics of ritual abuse survivors. As founder and president of Restoration in Christ Ministries and a long-time member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, he has had broad interactions with hundreds of therapists working extensively with DID. In addition, he has walked alongside his wife, Diane W. Hawkins, MA, in her own journey of healing from complex DID. Together, they have become international speakers on the subject.
