Volume 1: Psychological Dynamics is the first part of Dr. Tom Hawkins’ envisioned comprehensive work in understanding and ministering to those suffering with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), including the complications occurring as a result of ritual abuse. This volume contains an extensive, explanatory listing of the symptomatology of DID, an examination of mind-control programming with a suggested protocol for its resolution, a discussion on the reliability and healing of traumatic memory, and an introduction to Dr. Hawkins’ concept of using “Primary Identity” dynamics to shorten the healing process. With a PhD in Biblical Studies, over 25 years as a pastor, experience on a DID hospital unit, and extensive networking with mental health professionals, Dr. Hawkins addresses this subject from both an academic and spiritual perspective.

Due to Dr. Tom Hawkins’ death in 2010, the envisioned volumes 2 and 3 of this series will not be completed. The material that was to be covered in these additional volumes is presented in Modules 3 & 4 of our Restoring the Shattered Training Series.

About the Authors:
Tom R. Hawkins, PhD, claimed no mental health credentials but had a twenty year history of working with hundreds of complex DID cases, including on an inpatient DID unit. His prior twenty-five years as a pastor, along with his doctorate in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary, provided a foundation for addressing the often complex spiritual dynamics of ritual abuse survivors. As Founder and President of Restoration in Christ Ministries and a long-time member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, he had broad interactions with hundreds of therapists working extensively with DID. In addition, he walked alongside his wife, Diane W. Hawkins, in her own journey of healing from complex DID and ritual abuse. Together, they were international speakers on the subject. Diane has now succeeded Tom as President of Restoration in Christ Ministries.
